Once again, the prophet, Bono nails it. The only answer to division, inequity, enmity, and strife comes in being one, and there is only One who can make us one and that is Jesus.

The scripture says that when Jesus comes into our life we become one with the body of Christ. All believers are drawn in together. Our hearts are knit as one. It matters not what we are or were, we are one with each other in the body. It’s a work of God on the inside. We can’t do it by ourselves. It’s a change of heart. And though we are not the same, we are one, and we get to carry each other and be carried because of it.

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you are called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:4-6)

One.

The body of Christ obliterates history; it overcomes everything — hurt, shame, jealousy, fear, intimidation, pride, superiority, and conflict. Because in Christ, we all become one. It’s the only answer that really works.

Only One can make us one.
