Prayer and Counseling

Power of Prayer

There would be no Catch Ministry without our Prayer Ministry. Prayer is the heartbeat of the Catch Ministry. It’s how we engage with God in His work. Under the careful guidance of our Prayer Pastor, Cynthia Cody Vera, our Prayer Warriors provide a prayer covering for the entire Catch Ministry and all of its endeavors and community members. Our vision for our Prayer Ministry is to see people’s faith grow and their prayer life increase, as we are dedicated to praying until the Lord completes every work.

Our Prayer Warriors are standing by to pray for any particular need you or someone you know is facing. If you would like our Prayer Warriors to pray for a specific need, please complete the form below, and we will begin praying immediately.

Send a Prayer Request

Your request is treated with care and shared only as needed with those who are praying for you.

When you press the prayer request button with your confidential request, you set in motion a series of events that can change the world. That is why the Prayer Warriors take prayer and their assignments seriously.

Power of the Prayer Ministry and Counseling

Power of the Prayer Ministry

The Catch Ministry exists because of prayer. Prayer is not an afterthought — it’s the heartbeat. It’s how we join God in what He’s already doing, even if the “how” remains a mystery. Scripture calls us to pray, and when we do, faith grows, lives change, and God moves.

When you send a prayer request through the Catch Ministry, you start more than a conversation — you start a chain reaction. Your need is carried straight to people who take prayer seriously. This isn’t symbolic. It’s real, it’s powerful, and it changes things.

Our Prayer Warriors

The first Prayer Warrior came to us, not the other way around. Dave Butler, a longtime Catch reader and musician, asked if we’d consider a dedicated prayer ministry. His instructions? Do nothing. Wait for God to send the right people.

Within a month, eleven others — strangers to each other but united in calling — stepped forward. No recruiting, no advertising. Just willing hearts saying “yes” to God’s nudge.

These twelve pray immediately, persistently, and with purpose. They’re not casual about it. They pray until there’s an answer. They seek God’s will, not just human wishes. They’re our frontline intercessors — standing in the gap, wielding prayer as a spiritual weapon against the plans of the enemy, and partnering with God for His purposes.

Our Prayer Partners

Every week, we share a summary of that week’s requests (first names only) with over 300 Prayer Partners. Think of it as generals and soldiers — all working together in the same mission.

Walking with the Hurting

Prayer opens doors into people’s real, raw stories:

  • A young woman facing terminal illness
  • An alcoholic fighting for sobriety
  • Parents grieving children lost to drugs
  • A grandmother watching her grandkids caught in a divorce
  • Families navigating eating disorders
  • Parents caring for children with autism or bipolar disorder
  • Hazel, who cared for her husband until she herself was ready to meet her Savior, joyfully said goodbye to us here and hello to eternity

The list goes on. Every name is a life, every request a cry for help — and we carry each one before God.

Why It Matters

Prayer has led us into counseling, crisis intervention, and connecting people with the right help. None of this was in our “plans,” but God’s plans are bigger.

The only reasons you might not use this resource are:

  1. You forgot it exists.
  2. You think your need is too small (it’s not).
  3. You doubt prayer changes things (it does).

At The Catch, we know prayer works because we see God answering every day. This ministry is our hotline to heaven — and you’re invited to use it.
