Music That Matters

Music that carries meaning. Stories that matter. Voices that aren’t afraid to be honest.

A Generation Searching

The late 1960s were filled with questions.

A generation was searching for something real. Not easy answers, but truth. Meaning. Belonging. Peace.

And in the middle of that search, something unexpected began to happen.

It didn’t start in churches. It started on the streets.

In 1967, a small storefront in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury opened its doors. From there, a spark spread across cities and campuses. It wasn’t organized. It was people encountering Jesus in a way that felt immediate and real.

Young musicians began writing songs that carried the same message. They took the sound of their generation and filled it with something deeper.

Love. Meaning. Community. Peace. Justice.

This was Jesus Music. And it changed everything.

It lived in coffeehouses, on street corners, in underground papers and radio. Raw. Honest. Unfiltered.

For many, it was the first time faith made sense.

By the early 1970s, it had gone national. And even as the movement faded, it left something behind:

A new way to communicate faith.

A new way for music to matter.

Over time, that movement became something more established. More visible. More influential.

But also more complicated.

The message often shifted toward issues, while the simplicity of the gospel moved to the edges.

And yet, not all of it was lost.

The ones who carried the heart of that movement are still here.

Only now, they carry perspective.

They’ve seen what lasts. And they have never left it.

The culture feels familiar again. A new generation asking the same questions.

And the response is simple:

A message reaching Millennials and Gen Z — people searching for something real, and discovering that the message of Jesus meets them where they are.

This is Music That Matters.

Where music carries meaning.
Where truth sounds like something you can feel.

Where the message still reaches people right where they are.

Music That Matters Radio

Music That Matters Radio is where that story keeps moving.
It’s not just about playing songs.

It’s about creating space.

Space to hear something real.

Space to wrestle with questions.

Space to reconnect with what matters.

The same spirit that shaped the Jesus Movement still lives here.
Music that speaks.
Stories that matter.
Voices that aren’t afraid to be honest.

This is where faith meets real life — not polished, not distant, but present.

Today’s culture isn’t so different from the late 60s.

There’s still noise.

Still searching.

Still a hunger for meaning.

Music That Matters Radio speaks into that space — reaching a generation that’s looking for something deeper, even if they don’t have the words for it yet.

This is more than a station.

It’s a continuation of a movement.

A place where music carries truth.

Where grace is lived out loud.

And where, once again, the message meets people right where they are.
